Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of the RateWise currency converter.

Effective date: October 17, 2026

Last updated: October 17, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the RateWise currency converter app for iOS and Android (“RateWise” or the “App”), provided by Zappsco Ltd (“Zappsco”, “we”, “us”). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The App

RateWise lets you convert between currencies, view current exchange rates, and view historical rate charts and tables. Conversions are calculated on your device using exchange-rate data that the App downloads from our servers and stores for offline use. The App does not require an account.

2. Licence to use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and the rules of the store you got it from (Apple App Store or Google Play).

You agree not to:

  • copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, except where the law expressly allows it;
  • scrape, bulk-download, redistribute, resell or build a product or service on top of the exchange-rate data delivered to the App;
  • send automated or excessive requests to our servers, or interfere with or disrupt the App or its infrastructure;
  • remove copyright, trademark or attribution notices, including rate-source attribution;
  • use the App for any unlawful purpose.

3. Exchange-rate information — no financial advice

Rates are for information only. Exchange rates in RateWise come from third-party data providers and are refreshed periodically (typically about once an hour). They are mid-market reference rates. They are not the rates offered by any bank, money-transfer service, card issuer or exchange bureau, which usually include fees and margins.

  • Rates may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate, and may be out of date when your device is offline. The App shows when rates were last updated; check this before relying on a result.
  • Historical data may have gaps or be revised by the provider.
  • Nothing in the App is financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Do not rely on the App as your sole source for trading, remittance, pricing or any other financial decision. Always confirm the rate with the provider handling your transaction.

We are not responsible for any loss arising from your reliance on rates or conversions shown in the App.

4. Advertising

The free version of RateWise is supported by ads served by Google AdMob, including banner and interstitial ads. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or for any products, services or websites they promote. Your dealings with advertisers are solely between you and them. How ad data is handled is explained in our Privacy Policy.

5. RateWise Premium (Lifetime)

5.1 What you get

RateWise Premium is an optional one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It currently:

  • removes all ads from the App; and
  • unlocks Favorite Currencies.

Premium is a lifetime licence for the life of the App, tied to your Apple ID or Google account. It is not a subscription and does not renew. We may improve or change Premium features over time, but we will not remove ad-free use from existing Premium owners while the App is offered.

5.2 Purchase and payment

Purchases are made and paid through the Apple App Store or Google Play, at the price shown in the App at the time of purchase, and are subject to that store’s terms. Purchases are managed by our service provider RevenueCat. We never receive your payment card details.

5.3 Restoring purchases

If you reinstall the App or move to a new device using the same Apple ID or Google account, use Restore Purchases on the Premium screen to reactivate Premium. Premium cannot be transferred between different store accounts.

5.4 Refunds

All refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. We cannot issue refunds directly. Apple: https://support.apple.com/en-us/118223. Google Play: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637. If a refund is granted, Premium will be deactivated. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your country.

6. Availability and changes

We aim to keep RateWise working, including offline, but we do not guarantee that the App, the rate service or any feature will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may update, change, suspend or discontinue the App or any part of it, and the data sources it uses, at any time. Some updates may be required to keep using the App.

7. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, text, graphics and the RateWise name and logo, is owned by Zappsco Ltd or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Exchange-rate data is provided by third-party sources and remains subject to their licences; attribution is shown in Settings → About → Rate Source. Currency flags and open-source components are used under their respective licences, listed in the App under About → Licenses.

8. Third-party services

The App relies on third-party services, including Apple, Google (AdMob, Firebase), Cloudflare and RevenueCat. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Links in the App that open external websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for those sites.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the App. It forms part of these Terms.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App and all exchange-rate data are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zappsco Ltd and its directors, employees and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, savings, data or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App or any exchange-rate data, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for RateWise Premium, if any, or (b) USD 10.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Termination

These Terms apply until ended by you or us. You can end them at any time by deleting the App. We may suspend or end your licence if you breach these Terms. Sections 3, 7, 10, 11, 13 and 14 survive termination.

13. Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded RateWise from the Apple App Store:

  • These Terms are between you and Zappsco Ltd only, not Apple. Zappsco, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content.
  • Your licence is limited to using the App on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
  • If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation regarding the App.
  • Zappsco, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
  • Zappsco, not Apple, is responsible for investigating and resolving any claim that the App infringes a third party’s intellectual property rights.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting”, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which Zappsco Ltd is registered, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts there. Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the App after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

16. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the App.
